| Frequently Asked Questions Q: What kinds of pets do you sit for? A: I have sat for cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, fish, snakes, rats, hamsters, gerbils, ducks, guinea pigs, parrots, crabs, turtles, frogs and hobby farm pets such as goats, miniature horses and chickens. I adore all animals and have experience with many types, but if I don't have experience with your specific kind of pet I will let you know and would be more than happy to learn how to care for them. Q: What are the advantages to using the Pet Nanny? A:
Q: Will you take my pets into your own home? A: No, sorry. I only take care of pets in their own homes, where they are comfortable and secure. Q: What happens at the consultation visit? A: Once you have decided that visits by the Pet Nanny are right for your pets, I will come to your home for a consultation visit. I will familiarize myself with your pets and home so I will know where to find important items such as food, leashes and litter boxes. I will fill out an information sheet on your pets and require that you sign a contract which allows me to take your pets to the vet on your behalf in case of an emergency. It is at this time I will also pick up a key to your home. Q: What services do you provide? A: I offer pet sitting, dog walking, house sitting, dog park trips and a pet taxi service to appointments at the vet, groomer or any other place your pet may need to go. Q: What area do you service? A: I primarily pet sit in Lake Mills and the surrounding area including: Aztalan and Milford. I also service Cambridge, Johnson Creek, Waterloo, Fort Atkinson, Deerfield and Jefferson based on availability. Q: How do the Pet Nanny’s prices compare to other options? A: Compared to boarding your pet, it may at first seem more expensive however there are certainly added bonuses to hiring the Pet Nanny. Pet owners with two or more pets will likely find my services less expensive than boarding options. Unlike most pet sitting services, I never charge extra fees for additional pets, holiday visits, key pick- up, last minute requests, yard clean up or administering medications. In addition, I give you the peace of mind of knowing that your pet will feel more secure in his or her own home, following their normal routine. Very importantly, there is no need to worry about your pet’s risk of exposure to parasites or diseases of other animals. For no extra charge, I can also provide security measures such as taking in the mail and adjusting the drapes and lights. I will also water your plants and take your garbage to the curb. Q: Are you insured and bonded? A: Yes. I am a professional, insured and bonded. Q: Will you just stop by every other day (for cats)? A: No. I am not comfortable leaving your pets alone for that long in case of an emergency, nor does my insurance company allow it. Q: Can you walk my dog every day at lunchtime while I am at work? A: Sorry, but at this time I can not provide, mid-day dog walks daily. I can let your dogs out around noon occasionally if you are planning to have a long day away from home, but at this time I can not commit to daily mid-day visits five days a week. Q: Can I call you at the last minute to have you let my dog out if I can’t get home right away after work? A: Yes! I can keep your key on file and I am almost always available around 5pm daily, so I can go over and give your dog a potty break if you get caught up at work or something unexpected arises. Q: When is payment for services due? A: Payment in advance is always appreciated, but if you decide not to do so, I will leave an invoice at your home and payment is due within 10 days of your return or a $30 late fee will be charged. Q: Could you do overnight stays at my house? A: Sorry, but I do not do overnight visits at this time. Q: Do you accept credit cards? A: I will accept credit cards payments online through PAYPAL, but because of high processing fees, I only allow this for invoices over $300. |
